THE FUNDAMENTALS · 3 MIN READ
What are values?
Helping pupils understand what really matters to them, and why.

THE KEY IDEA
Values aren't rules or targets. They're simple prompts that help children think about the kind of person they want to be.
What your child does
In youHQ, pupils choose and reflect on values like kindness, curiosity, courage or teamwork. They notice how their actions line up with their intentions, and how their behaviour affects others.
Why it helps
Exploring values builds self-awareness and character. It's one of the most powerful ways to nurture a strong sense of self, in school and beyond.
TRY THIS AT HOME
Ask about values
Ask your child which values they've been exploring. You might be surprised by how thoughtful their answers are, and how much they reflect your own.
