Support at home
Small, everyday ways to support your child’s wellbeing.
AT DINNER
Ask about a goal
Ask: “What’s one small thing you’re working on this week?” Then listen more than you advise.
AT BEDTIME
One good thing
Share one thing that went well today, and ask your child for theirs. It builds a habit of noticing the good.
ON A HARD DAY
Notice, don’t fix
If your child seems low, try: “You seem a bit quiet today.” Feeling heard often matters more than a solution.
Questions parents ask
Can I see my child’s answers in youHQ?
No. Check-ins are private between your child and trusted staff at school. This helps children speak openly. If you’re worried about your child, please talk to the school.
Does my child use youHQ at home?
That depends on your school. Ask your school how and when pupils use youHQ, and how you can support it at home.
Who can see my child’s information?
Only authorised staff at your child’s school can see individual check-ins. Your school’s privacy notice explains how pupil data is handled.
What if I’m worried about my child?
Contact your school’s wellbeing lead or the school office. If your child is in immediate danger, call the emergency services.
