Heatherop Castle - Staff Inset Day
Hatherop Castle School is a co-educational day and boarding prep school for children aged 2 to 13, set in the heart of the Cotswolds near Cirencester, Gloucestershire. Part of the Wishford Education group, a leading provider of independent education in the UK, the school prides itself on a caring, adventurous environment.
The Deputy Head Pastoral and Head of Wellbeing, Nick Williams, and the Head are deeply compassionate about pastoral care and wanted to identify students who may need extra support. After using the youHQ dashboard, they identified specific concerns around sleep among their pupils.
Inspired by the data insights, youHQ worked with Nick Williams to design and deliver a staff wellbeing focused inset day. The day included:
-
A keynote from Sarah Gilchrist (sleep expert)
-
A session from youHQ co-founder, sports scientist and former Director of Sport on the power of movement in the classroom, including a practical session for staff
-
A nutrition session with dietician Paula Wood
-
Yoga, mountain biking, and youHQ even provided an ice bath
By turning dashboard data into a tailored action plan, youHQ helped Hatherop Castle School move from identifying a concern (sleep) to delivering a full staff inset day in partnership with expert speakers, covering sleep science, movement, nutrition, and recovery. Staff left energised and equipped with practical strategies they could bring straight into the classroom. The day demonstrated how youHQ goes beyond a data platform, acting as a hands-on partner that designs and delivers meaningful interventions rooted in what the data actually shows. For Nick Williams and his team, it proved that wellbeing insights don't have to sit in a spreadsheet: they can become experiences that shift culture.
The staff thought the day was great and importantly, they thought you and the other speakers were brilliant! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and energy. You and the team at youHQ certainly made the day happen!
