Newton Prep is a leading London day school for children aged 3–13, offering a broad curriculum with strong academic foundations, a focus on creativity, and a commitment to nurturing confidence and wellbeing.
Newton prep has always placed wellbeing at the heart of school life. However, as student numbers grew, the pastoral team recognised the need for a more consistent, data-informed approach to tracking wellbeing and engagement. Teachers wanted to hear more from students directly to ensure every child’s voice was valued and support could be targeted early. The challenge was finding a practical, user-friendly system that strengthened student voice and gave staff clear insights without adding to their workload.
By introducing youHQ, the school was able to embed wellbeing more deeply across daily school life. Students could regularly share how they were feeling, set goals, and reflect on their progress, giving staff valuable insight into individual and group trends. Teachers used youHQ’s data to identify emerging needs, celebrate progress, and take proactive action to support students.
The impact was clear: engagement improved, student voice became stronger, and staff felt empowered with meaningful data to guide pastoral care.
This whole-school approach to wellbeing led to Newton Prep being recognised as youHQ’s Prep School of the Year.

Wellbeing is at the absolute heart of everything we do here, and it is great to see our students’ engagement and the support staff offer recognised.
